Zimbabwean Seed Custodians meet in Harare

Zimbabwean Seed custodians gathered in Harare during a one-day symposium aimed at retracing seed custodians’ roots, discussing practices that enable and hinder them from enjoying their community rights and responsibilities. The symposium, the first ever to be held at national level, was attended by 63 seed custodians including traditional leaders and the media. The symposium is one of the advocacy activities under the Zimbabwe Seed Sovereignty Programme (ZSSP), a multi-year programme being coordinated by PELUM-ZWE. The ZSSP is aimed at strengthening farmer managed seed systems in Zimbabwe.
